Meet the Author: an Engineer and a 'Shroudie'
This website is maintained by a retired grandfather who first became fascinated by the Shroud of Turin in 1979. My unique perspective on the Shroud is informed by decades of personal research combined with a technical background.
Technical Background and Credentials
My formal education provides a valuable lens for analyzing the scientific and forensic complexities of the Shroud:
- Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (1968 Graduate, India).
- Professional Life: Held management roles and was a Member of the British Institute of Management (MBIM) in the 1980s.
This background allows me to understand and comment critically on the material science (weaving), image formation (3D digital data), and anatomical evidence central to the Shroud controversy.
The Discovery: From Desperation to Devotion (1979)
My personal journey with the Shroud began in 1979 during a period of extreme difficulty. After unfortunate financial issues led to the bankruptcy of our family business in Kerala, I moved to Dubai seeking employment.
While job hunting, I came across an issue of LIFE Magazine featuring an article on the 1978 Shroud of Turin Research Project (STURP). This was the first time I had ever heard of the relic.
- The Conversion: Reading about the Shroud became a turning point. Soon after, I secured a good job, and my life fortunes dramatically improved. I attributed this turn of events to a miracle connected to the relic.
- The Pilgrimage: I became a firm believer, or "Shroudie," in 1979. Throughout my career, whenever my international travels brought me to Italy, I made it a point to visit Turin and pray at the Church of the Shroud.
The Website's Genesis
In 2008, following a massive heart attack and successful open-heart surgery, I was advised to take complete rest. To combat the boredom during my 6-month sick leave, I began learning web design.
This website was the very first one I created. It was born from a decades-long conviction that the Shroud of Turin is the genuine burial cloth of Jesus Christ, containing His miracle 'selfie'.
The site aims to share the technical, historical, and forensic evidence that underpins this belief, written from the unique perspective of a fellow researcher and lifelong devotee.
